I'll like to keep it short so rather than explaining I'll link you'll to a few of my projects...

The first one was a clip I did for the university.

Hello everyone. Salam 1Malaysia!! I’m Sethuckarasi Narayanan, a 4th year student. I am running for the post of the Treasurer in MSA. I am very confident in my abilities, I will be able to handle this post and give it my full commitment.

I understand how people value money and more importantly, I myself am aware of it’s worth. Consequently, I give you my assurances that under my guard, the money of the people will not be wasted on trivial matters.

In all fairness, you , the voter, only has my word, and my reputation for this but I can assure you of my honesty and trustworthiness. I am careful with my own money as a rule, which I believe has trained me in money management. As expected of a treasurer, all financial transactions will be documented and all the reports will be succinctly prepared. But, what I can personally contribute is my ability to critically analyze budget allocations and expenditures to ensure that every kopeek of the people is spent in their best interests. In other words, YOUR best interests, voter.

My motto- ‘Competence, Accountability and Transparency’. However I trust in the judgement of the voters, and may the best candidate win the election. If you feel that I am capable of undertaking this responsibility, then please vote for me during the upcoming MSA election.

Thank you so much and my best wishes to all the candidates.

Ivan Khoo Kay Lerh for President Campaign

To all my fellow Volgogradians. I, Ivan Khoo is officially running for the presidential post of MSA, this is not an act for fame or popularity among students, I’m sure we all know that I and every other candidates won’t get any personal benefit out of it. The main aim I would like to achieve as the president of MSA is to create and cultivate the 1 Malaysia concept among us, I would like to introduce activities that could help bring a better understanding among various races and religious faith here in Volgograd. So, if you see the need for a change in terms of building up unity and filing up the loop holes that are present among us, then we are on the same page. So please cast your votes for me, and I’ll do my best for the community of Volgograd.

Thank you!

I would like to assure the Malaysian Community of Volgograd that if given a chance I would give my very best to serve the Malaysian Community and do all in my might to solve the problems of fellow Malaysians.

Lee Jiann Woei for President Campaign

Greetings to all my fellow Malaysians,

I’m Jiann Woei from 5th course. I’m so honored to qualify as one of the presidential nominees by my fellow batch mates. Thank you for acknowledging my capability and ability to lead and serve our Malaysian community in the soils of Volgograd.

I know to be able to lead others, one must be willing to go forward alone, and thus I’m here to give out one of my campaigning messages before the actual Election Day.

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a football field, in an army, or in an office. I believe that I have acquainted much of the leadership qualities to take myself up to the next level running for the presidential council.

It is very true that leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. This can be easily fitted into my shoes indeed. I started off with basic responsibilities from being a hostel floor leader, batch representatives for Chinese community, ushers for past events till the person who I am today, leading Hiroshima hostel and Malaysian Chinese community. As time goes by, I have gain and learn many valuable experiences and lessons which I can never exchange them with money or anything else.

People used to ask me whether it is worth it to take up these responsibilities with all the sacrifices, problems and hardships; after all they are just by choice of oneself.  My answer will always be a YES. Despite the many circumstances which I had or yet to face, they have direct or indirectly curb and shape me, to become a better leader and a better person myself.

I truly believe that a leader earns success based on service to others, not at the expense of others. I’m grateful to be given an opportunity now to prove my ability and to serve the community.  So thank you for sparing time reading what I have to say, for now. Stay tuned for my campaign speech on the actual Election Day. Cheers!

Presidential Nominations

Who will be the next President?

The following candidates have qualified as Presidential Nominees following their popular nominations by the 5th Year Students. The candidates are as follow (in no particular order):

Navaresh Retnasingam
Ivan Khoo
Abang Mohamad Syazwan
Lee Jiann Woei

The candidates will be given a chance to campaign before and on the
Election Day itself. Three candidates representing their particular races with the highest number of votes will form the Presidential Council (President and 2 vice-presidents). The candidate with the highest votes among all will naturally be the MSA president for the term. The two runner ups automatically hold the posts of vice-presidents.

Do take note that the Presidential Council must be formed by candidates that represent the major races in Malaysia (Malay and Bumiputera, Chinese, Indian). In natural circumstances there will only be 1 nominee for each race, however a tie in the number of nominations is settled by having both campaign (in the case of Ivan Khoo and Lee Jian Woei). This has been agreed by the three representatives.

For more information about the presidential nomination eligibility, voting and election, please refer to Clause 13 & 14 in the MSA Constitution.

Any questions about this can be posted here. If you have certain questions or matters you would like to bring to the candidates' attention so that they may talk about those issues during their campaigns if they like, you may also comment here.

Michael Chia Yik Luei for 1st Year Batch Representative

Greetings and здравствуйте to all my fellow Malaysian friends.

I am Michael Chia Yik Luei, currently a 1st year student and i hereby would like to take the responsibility to run the post of 1st Year Batch Representative for the upcoming MSA committees.

In my personal opinion, to become a great leader for the community, he must first build up his leadership with the accompaniment of courage, passion, confident and intellectual thinking, and most importantly unbiased to every races. A leader must be able to withstands any consequences all the time. I've been living in Volgograd for a year, as a foreign student, we need to gain more experience while we are still young and flamboyant.

I was nominated as the Pre-Med Batch Representative last semester and because of that, I observed that it is not simple to manage student's welfare, it required time and much sacrifices in order to make a better living for everyone.

I gladly carry this responsibilities for my fellow batch-mates , I might not have enough experience, but my passion and natural leadership has inspired me to become a great leader. I will be there to help whenever you are in trouble. Trust in me, as this is my promise for everyone. Your support is very much appreciated.

Yours truthfully,
Michael Chia Yik Luei

I have had past experiences in handling budget, money and finance of various associations and I was treasurer for most of my secondary school life. Also I have been involved and in charge of organizing many events. I am the type of person who will rise to the challenge when given one. That coupled with my experience in handling money, I assure you of my capability as your treasurer. I also treasure the quality of honesty and trustworthiness, particularly when dealing with money. Especially because since young, my parents have drilled into my subconcious to be very careful with money and budget. I have been trained to value every penny and never spend beyond my means. So till this very day, I make a habit of recording my expenses. And if I can be so meticulous with my money, all the more when handling an organization's account. That being said, if you all see fitting, please nominate and vote for me as your treasurer in our upcoming election.

Khor Leet Liang for Media Director!

Hello everyone, I’m Khor Leet Liang from Year 3, Group 29. I would like to run for the post of Media Director.
As all of you should have been informed, the Media Director is supposed:
1. To inform the Malaysian community of Volgograd of activities and notifications, which concern them, through a number of mediums including, but not limited to, the official MSA Facebook pages, the official MSA blog, the official MSA forum and e-mail.
2. To maintain the official MSA Facebook pages, the official MSA blog, the official MSA forum
3. To be the ‘public face’ of the MSA, meaning the Media Director has to address every issue raised with the answers provided by the MSA in a calm, clear and politically correct way.
When information of substantial importance comes to me, I’m that kind of person who spreads it out the moment I find my means to, handphone/computer/sometimes even announcing it in public if I hve to, I mean, lectures.
I spend a large part of my time online, so much I may already qualify to be a nerd. I do not mean to brag, but my efficiency in managing media is very high and those who have worked as my superiors in MCSC can testify to that.
Did I mention I’m the current Media Director of Malaysian Chinese Students Community? Because I am.

A couple more reasons why I think I’m suited for this job:
  1. I have experience in Photoshop.
  2. I have, and am still acquiring experience with making video slideshows.
  3. I’m more than willing to sacrifice my time for my job.
  4. I’m one of those rare guys who can inform you about almost everything.
  5. I’m highly informative.
  6. I designed the bookmarks distributed to all MCSC members in commemoration of Mid-Autumn Festival 2010.
  7. I’m a writer.  It’s a hobby all right, but I do have a blog (implying that I am capable of managing one), and I’ve been writing since high school.
  8. I speak 5 languages.
  9. I’m… Ok perhaps I won’t mention this one.

So that’s it for you, guys. Please do nominate me vote for me, and I’ll be sure to return your expectations in equal, or even higher amounts!
Cheers.
Rolo Khor Leet Liang (3rd Year)

Johanan Lawrence for Welfare Director

To my fellow malaysians in Volgograd, my name is Johanan Lawrence, a 4th year student of Dentistry in the russian medium. I wish to run for the post of Welfare Director. I believe that the role of every leader is to serve the best interests of the community, especially when it concerns their welfare. I believe that I have the necessary ability and skills needed. I have a heart and desire to assist others, am able to converse well in Russian and I have the proper connections and resources to get things done. I humbly ask to be given the chance to serve.

Nominate and vote me as the Welfare Director.

Yours truthfully - Johanan Lawrence
