Presidential Nominations

Who will be the next President?

The following candidates have qualified as Presidential Nominees following their popular nominations by the 5th Year Students. The candidates are as follow (in no particular order):

Navaresh Retnasingam
Ivan Khoo
Abang Mohamad Syazwan
Lee Jiann Woei

The candidates will be given a chance to campaign before and on the
Election Day itself. Three candidates representing their particular races with the highest number of votes will form the Presidential Council (President and 2 vice-presidents). The candidate with the highest votes among all will naturally be the MSA president for the term. The two runner ups automatically hold the posts of vice-presidents.

Do take note that the Presidential Council must be formed by candidates that represent the major races in Malaysia (Malay and Bumiputera, Chinese, Indian). In natural circumstances there will only be 1 nominee for each race, however a tie in the number of nominations is settled by having both campaign (in the case of Ivan Khoo and Lee Jian Woei). This has been agreed by the three representatives.

For more information about the presidential nomination eligibility, voting and election, please refer to Clause 13 & 14 in the MSA Constitution.

Any questions about this can be posted here. If you have certain questions or matters you would like to bring to the candidates' attention so that they may talk about those issues during their campaigns if they like, you may also comment here.
